We have been palletising and depalletising for major customers in the last 50+ years. It is therefore not very likely that you have something that we cannot palletise – at least if anyone can palletise it. From single-line palletisers to very complex multi-line systems, our solutions will bring maximum functionality. Utilizing either conventional or robot palletisers, flexibility can be achieved even at high capacities.
Palletisation requires high diversity and flexibility in nearly every industry. Specially designed Alvey solutions offer wide versatility and applicability. Our systems perform faultlessly in demanding conditions – for example, in environments with extreme temperatures. For each sector, we develop a solution that meets the most stringent requirements. Our challenge is to find solutions that are as simple as possible for sometimes extremely complex challenges.
Each installation has its own challenges. There can be demand for high capacity, the project can be very complex, it can entail multi-line or single line systems, and combinations of all of these things.
In any case, the solutions can be implemented under the most demanding conditions, such as:
Many of our customers work in demanding environments. Standards for quality, hygiene and safety are becoming higher all the time. Palletisation as such has nothing to do with production – we view it as a logistics activity. In addition, palletisation requires (usually) wooden pallets as well as all kinds of other consumables such as plastic sheet, separator sheets, and stickers. Many of our customers would rather not see any of these things anywhere near a hygienic production hall. In a multi-line concept, several production lines are connected to one or more palletisation machines, which are usually not placed in the production hall itself.
These systems are designed for environments with very high production volumes, or where the customer prefers to connect the production machines directly to the palletiser. Typical applications are soft drink producers. Alvey designs machines with a capacity ranging from 20 to 150 packs/minute and more.
What are ideal projects for robots? This is not so easy to summarise. In general, robots are great where there are multiple production lines running at moderate (4 or 5 cases a minute or less) speeds. They are also great for complex moves, such as palletising buckets with lids and handles, or with pallet patterns with a chimney where it is necessary to put an extra pack inside the chimney vertically.
Careful automatic depalletisation of empty containers like cans and bottles requires special expertise. Our systems achieve zero bottle breakage even at our highest capacities of up to 50.000 bottles per hour. Alvey offers both high-level and low-level outfeed machine designs to meet various project requirements.
Alvey has a vast range of conveyors for unit loads for horizontal and/or inclined transport. We use the belt, slat chain, modular belt, roller and other types of conveyors, depending on the product and additional requirements. We typically integrate vertical transport from our partners.
Our modular system of roller and chain conveyors is used for the horizontal transport of both empty and full pallets with loads up to 2,000 kg, together with additional units for changing direction and longer distance conveying.
Safe and efficient use of pallets within the internal logistics system requires systems for empty pallet stacking and checking. Alvey integrates both empty pallet stackers/dispensers and pallet quality inspectors.
Palletising done often doesn´t mean the pallet with products is ready to endure a transport by truck. For further stabilizing and securing items on pallet, Alvey integrates wrapping equipment from proven OEM manufacturers.
